Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (2024)

Darkest Dungeon 2 has helpful items called Trinkets that the player's Heroes can equip to help them through combat. Heroes can have up to 2 Trinkets at a time, so it's important that players choose the best Trinkets available to use to help them finish an expedition.

Here are some of the game's best Trinkets; they can be used either independently or together with one another to benefit each Hero. You can find the most indelible Trinkets at Hoarders on your expeditions, so keep an eye out for them to get these Trinkets. Some others are gotten through fighting Lair bosses, Academic Studies, and or special encounters as well. If only a certain Hero of Time could help you fight these Eldritch horrors.

10 Faceless Visage

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (1)

The Faceless Visage is a special Trinket that provides a unique combat change -- it randomizes positions for both player and enemy ranks in Combat. This special effect can be as much of a boon as it is a withdrawal, with it scrambling your party's position and resulting in some of your Heroes not being able to fulfill some skills, but the same could be said about enemies. A fun item for the daring player, it should be ideally used in back-line heavy enemy varieties, such as the Sprawl, with back-line enemies being easy pickings if they're set at the front. Use with caution.

9 Greater Heartseeker

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (2)

For the Critical-centric play style, the Greater Heartseeker gives a flat +10% Critical Chance to any Hero who has it equipped. A great Trinket for Heroes who're Crit reliant such as the Graverobber or Highwayman, this Trinket will make big numbers appear more often when going for the riskier moves. Double down on this Trinket and try and find other Trinkets that boost Critical rates for your Hero, such as the Celebrated Chalice.

8 Greater Anchoring Charm

Become immovable and stout of mind; the Greater Anchoring Charm provides the equipped Hero with +50% Resistance from being moved out of place and a +25% resistance to Stun, a powerful debuff that skips an affected Hero's turn. Ideally used for front-line Heroes as they're going to be taking the brunt of damage debuffs, this Trinket has a lot of use in the Shroud; a location full of enemies who push Heroes around a lot in combat. And with its resistance to Stun, it'll be a high-value item when it does resist in the worst of times; that being all the time in the Darkest Dungeon series, really.

7 Greater Sacrificial Host

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (4)

The Greater Sacrificial Host is an invaluable Trinket for locations such as the Sluice and Blight-inflicting enemy encounters. With a staggering +66% Blight resistance, the likelihood of the equipped Hero getting Blight will become a rare nuisance rather than a common threat. But beyond its high resistance, it offers no other benefit. So make sure to de-equip it when not in a blight-centric zone.

6 Greater Clotting Cruor

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (5)

Got no time to bleed! The Greater Clotting Cruor offers a +66% Bleed resistance to the Hero when equipped. This Trinket is amazing when used in the Tangle and or the Shroud, as most enemy encounters in these locations use Bleed-inflicting skills. Much like the Greater Sacrificial Host, however, only use this Trinket when in Bleed-centric locations.

5 Celebrated Chalice

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (6)

Benefiting from wealth is the core mechanic of the Celebrated Chalice Trinket. If you have at least 51 baubles and or relics in your inventory, equipped Hero will gain +4 to Speed and +10% Critical chance. This Trinket is fantastic as the player will always at least have up to or near 50 of either Baubles or Trinkets at a time, and even if only 1 of the requirements is met; the Hero still gains one of the buffs. This Trinket works best with Critical and Speed-centric Heroes.

4 Greater Sharpness Charm

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (7)

Sometimes simpler is better; the Greater Sharpness Charm offers the equipped Hero a flat +20% Damage boost. This Trinket has universal appeal and benefit; it can help any Hero and make an already strong Hero become a true powerhouse. It's recommended, however, to NOT apply this trinket to defense or support-centric Heroes as higher damage will not be their primary course of action when in use. Ideally, this Trinket will never leave the equipped Hero's slot, as it's far too useful for high-damage Heroes.

3 Reverberating Redoubt

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (8)

The Reverberating Redoubt Trinket's use shines when equipped with a defense-centric hero like the Man-At-Arms. With it applying +2 damage to the instigating enemy when the Hero is attacked and giving a +20% chance to give an extra action, this Trinket is amazing on slow defenders. Skills that apply a protection mechanic from the defending Hero to another Hero can rack up damage as the enemy targets the back-line; all the while, the defending Hero takes little to no damage.

2 Sodden Sweater

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (9)

A direct upgrade to the Greater Clotting Cruor, the Sodden Sweater offers +50% Bleed resistance and +50% Movement resistance. If the Hero resists Bleed, they'll heal 10% of health, and if they resist Movement, they'll heal -1 Stress. This Trinket has outstanding use in the Shroud location as with it; the equipped Hero can ignore and benefit from nearly all the enemy encounter mechanics. This Trinket, however, is only dropped by the Leviathan Boss in the Shroud, so brave this Boss and get this Trinket to make each subsequent Shroud expedition that much easier.

1 Greater Gilded Mind

Darkest Dungeon 2: 10 Best Trinkets Items (10)

For the absolute worst of situations, the Greater Gilded Mind is an amazing Trinket that offers a +25% resistance to Stress and +15% Deathblow resistance. This Trinket's use becomes even run-saving when used on parties reaching their stress limits or when some Heroes have already died. Being able to resist a Deathblow by +15% can give the player's Hero a few extra turns to clutch a victory, much more so when they can also resist Stress and a Meltdown.
